How does it work and what’s the earning model?
At Bezorg de Krant, you work independently on your own newspaper route, delivering one or more subscriptions per address. You start your day by picking up the newspapers at the depot, and from there, you begin your route. It’s the perfect side job that you can easily combine with school, studies, hobbies, or other commitments.
The compensation is €15.56 per hourly route, regardless of age or experience, and depends on the size of your route. An “hourly route” means a route that takes about one hour to complete. Some routes are shorter, so your earnings are adjusted accordingly—just like with any other part-time job. Want to earn more? You can choose to take on multiple routes.
Do I need experience, and what are the requirements?
No experience is needed. Once you sign up, you’ll be matched with a depot holder who will help you find a suitable route and train you. Using the BezorgApp, you’ll see exactly where to deliver the newspapers. You must be at least 15 years old to start as a newspaper deliverer, making it an ideal part-time or holiday job.
Important: To start working, you must be able to show valid identification. This can be an ID card, passport, or European identity card from an EEA country.
If you're from outside the EEA, you’ll need a valid passport and a residence permit that states on the back: “Employment is freely permitted, no work permit required.” Once you start, your earnings will be automatically transferred to your bank account at the end of each month.
Am I committing to anything by signing up?
Signing up is completely non-binding. You fill out the application form, get in touch with the depot holder, and discuss the options together. You’re not tied to anything, making it a low-threshold way to start earning extra money.
How many days and at what times do I deliver newspapers?
A typical delivery route runs from Monday to Saturday. For morning deliveries, this means delivering before 7:00 AM on weekdays and before 9:00 AM on Saturdays. In some regions, there are also afternoon or part-time rounds available between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM—perfect if you're looking for a flexible part-time job.
Are there any extra benefits or insurance I should know about?
You’re covered by a collective accident insurance during your work. As a newspaper deliverer, you often receive a free raincoat, bike bag, and even a newspaper of your choice. Note: you are responsible for your own transportation. This usually means having your own bike, but if you have a scooter, cargo bike, e-bike, or car, let the depot holder know so you can find a route that suits your situation.
There are also many giveaways, holiday tips, and sometimes bonuses for long-term commitment or referring new newspaper deliverers.
