Just started as a newspaper deliverer? In this blog, you'll learn how to activate your account, use the bezorgapp, and who works behind the scenes to ensure smooth deliveries.

You’ve started working as a newspaper deliverer. That means you’ll receive a Bezorgdekrant account. But how do you log in and activate your account?

Once you begin as a newspaper deliverer, you’ll gain access to the Bezorgdekrant.nl platform. Here you’ll find all essential information, news updates, payment specifications, announcements and registration forms for fun (prize) contests, the payment calendar, the insert overview, and the user manual for the delivery app.

To log in, click the three-line menu button at the top right of the website, then select “Login.” On mobile, tap the white button and enter your details to access your personal dashboard.

Are you new? Click “I’m new and want to activate my account,” then enter your relation number, postal code, and house number (without spaces, e.g., 1234AB). You’ll receive an email with login credentials. After logging in, you can immediately set your own username, password, and PIN code.

If you’ve lost your login details—such as your username, password, or PIN—you can request temporary credentials via the “I forgot my username, password and/or PIN” option on the login page. After logging in, you can safely reset your details.

Don’t remember your relation number? Send an email to info@bezorgdekrant.nl with your postal code and house number, and use the subject line “Forgot relation number.” They’ll help you out!

What is the delivery app and how does it work?

As a newspaper deliverer, you’ll use a special delivery app to receive your route and delivery information. The depot manager will provide you with a device that has the app installed.

When you open the app, you’ll first see an overview of any changes in your area, such as new or canceled subscribers. Complaints from the previous delivery day are also shown so you can take them into account.

Next, you’ll see your delivery list: an overview of all addresses you need to deliver to. Each address shows the subscriber’s name and which newspaper or publication to deliver.

While walking your route, you can swipe away each address. If you do this within 200 meters of the subscriber’s address, you’ll receive a small extra payment. The big advantage is that your route is then sorted in walking order, saving you and any substitute a lot of time.

You’re also less likely to forget an address and can instantly see which publication needs to be delivered. The device screen is illuminated, which is especially useful when delivering in the dark.

What other roles are part of the delivery team?

Delivery is a team effort! In addition to your role as a newspaper deliverer, there are other important functions:

  • Driver: Across the Netherlands, there are rural areas where delivery by foot or bike isn’t possible. In these areas, newspapers are delivered by car. Drivers may also be responsible for dropping off newspapers at depots before deliverers pick them up.
  • Distributor: This person usually works early in the morning and helps the depot manager by sorting newspapers per route. It’s an efficient and handy role that takes about an hour a day and is perfect to combine with school or studies.
  • Depot holder: The key figure in the organization! The depot manager coordinates newspaper delivery in a specific area. Every morning, they receive the newspapers, count them, and ensure they reach the right deliverers on time and eventually the right subscribers. They are the team’s point of contact, manage operations, and sometimes help out with deliveries.

The collaboration between drivers, distributors, and depot managers ensures that you, as a deliverer, can do your job smoothly. You’re out and about, working independently, while others behind the scenes keep everything running.
