  • What do you earn with a newspaper route?

The earnings of a newspaper route depend on the size of the area and the number of newspapers being delivered. The Depot Manager can inform you on exactly what you will earn. For example, an hourly delivery in one neighbourhood earns €14,78! Note: Everyone runs a newspaper route at their own pace. A one-hour shift does not mean that it takes you an hour to deliver your entire route. Also keep in mind that in the first week, it might take you a bit longer to deliver your papers but you will, of course, get faster and faster!

  • Do I get any extras?

Yes, you do! There are all kinds of interesting extras for deliverers, such as a startersbonus of €300,- , a free newspaper for good delivery, a rain suit and much more. At the end of the year, you will, of course, also receive the New Year cards with which you can go door-to-door for a great end-of-year bonus!

  • Do I have to pay taxes as a Newspaper Deliverer?

That depends on whether you think you have to pay income tax. You are responsible for your Income Tax (IB) return. In principle, the income from a newspaper route is considered by the tax authorities as “Income from other work.” This means that no income tax will be deducted from your delivery wage and paid to the tax authorities. It is up to you to declare your income to the tax authorities. Whether you have to file a tax return depends on the amount you received and any other income. If you are covered by social insurance, wage tax will be deducted from your taxable income. You will receive a specification of this by mail. Before February 1st, you will receive an annual statement on which the total withheld wage tax is stated. Whether you still have to pay tax depends on the totalamount of withheld payroll tax and any other income. For more information, please contact the Tax Information Line. They can be reached on 0800-0543.
